iPhone 4S Baseband Unlock Progresses as Bootrom Dumped by Dev Team

On Sunday the iPhone Dev Team reported progress on the iPhone 4S baseband unlock as ‘very promising’, and tonight @musclenerd has tweeted the iPhone 4S baseband bootrom has been dumped. This is a significant step in producing an unlock for the iPhone 4S, and will most likely come as an update to the unlocking tool ultrasn0w.

In the meantime, users holding out for an iPhone 4S unlock should stay away from iOS 5.xx firmware updates via iTunes. Stay tuned!

4S unlock?  Screw that.   Where’s the 4S Jailbreak FFS!

Most can care less about the unlock, especially in Canada.  Those that travel buy a factory unlocked phone from Apple.  The 4S untethered jailbreak is what everyone is waiting for.

in order for hackers to make a jailbreak they need to cheap the baseband rom first then they can move on to the main A5 Chip to jailbreak.
