Unlock the iPhone 4S With The New Gevey SIM Ultra S

Even though Apple now offers unlocked iPhones from their online and retail stores in some countries, there is still a desire to unlock the iPhone, after it’s been purchased from a carrier. Having an unlocked iPhone means you can change carriers without having to trade in your device, and gives you the freedom to use your iPhone contract free.

The Gevey SIM has been around for a while, giving iPhone users the ability to unlock their iPhones, without jailbreaking, by using a simple piece of hardware. The Gevey SIM Turbo and Ultra were used to unlock the iPhone 4, on certain firmwares, and now the Gevey SIM Ultra S is coming from Applenberry.com, to unlock the iPhone 4S in iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1, on basebands 1.0.11, 1.013, and 1.0.14.

So can one reverse the unlock after this has been done?

This will not touch/modify the hardware or software part of your iPhone. That means once you remove the SIM, it is back to what you had before.

Good to know.  I bought the R-SIM II Ultra S. It doesn’t work either. Same problem of going back to activation screen.  I have the Fido phone wanting to use on Rogers SIM.   It seems these unlock chips don’t work on Canadian network or phones.

I’d rather pay them $55 than $50 to one of our big 3…
