1080p Apple TV Reviews Hit the Web [Round Up]

Apple preceded their new iPad announcement and debuted a new version of the second generation Apple TV, updated to support 1080p streaming, but at the same $99US price (Canada now sells the new Apple TV for $109, a $10 price drop!).

New features include an updated user interface (also available to second generation users via a software update) that makes the experience resemble an iOS device. With Netflix supporting 1080p content, this new refreshed Apple TV so far led to positive early reviews, but still the update isn’t revolutionary. What is amazing is the affordable $99US price tag that remains the same.

Here are the early reviews that have hit the web:

Keep refreshing this post as we’ll keep it updated as more reviews hit the web. Anyone picking up the new Apple TV?

I thought it had always been $109 Canadian. Never understood why though since we’ve been at parity for so long.

Apple is likely recouping some of the transportation costs to Canada.  That’s the only thing that i can think of.

Is it already out? An Apple Store in Toronto was telling me it’s out next week.

Single core A5? Hmmm, so Apple found a way to get rid of their stock of faulty A5 chips.
Well played Apple!
Still, new AppleTV looks like the best Netflix hardware player out there. AirPlay at 1080p, too… $109 well spent.

Though the new 1080p Apple TV 3 and the iTunes 10.6 enables
to play 1080p video, it
only support 1080p in h.264 format.

Apple TV still cannot import, stream and play 1080p HD
video which is in MKV,
AVI, WTV, WMV, FLV, WebM, AVCHD, MPG, DivX, MXF, and VOB etc format.

Just google search Step by Step Guide on How to Convert
1080p MKV, AVI, Xvid, Divx, MP4, FLV, WMV, and MPEG to Apple TV/Apple TV
2/Apple TV 3

you will find a step by step guide on how to convert 1080p video in
MKV, AVI, Xvid, Divx, MP4,
FLV, WMV, WTV, WebM, AVCHD, MXF, MVI, VOB, F4V, BIK, RMVB and MPEG to Apple TV
3/Apple TV 2/Apple TV supported format
