Element Case Vapor COMP For iPhone 4/4S: White Edition [Review]

Element Case is well known for producing some of the best looking iPhone cases in the world, with Vapor Pro and Vapor COMP bumper-style aluminum cases being the most popular. Having previously reviewed the impressive Element Case Vapor Pro for iPhone 4/4S, we decided to take a look at the Element Case Vapor COMP White Edition and tell you what, it gets even better! Full review after the break.

Right from the moment I opened up the Vapor COMP box, I knew I was gonna love it coz of all the goodies that came along with it. The box contains a Vapor COMP white bumper, a solid white polycarbonate protective back plate and a ‘Transit Kit’.

The included Transit Kit consists of a zipper carrying case, screen protector, a couple of Element Case stickers, and a speed wrench. I actually loved the black hard shell zipper case since not only does it snuggly fit around the iPhone with Vapor COMP on, it also gives provides an extra bit of protection for your premium quality Vapor case. In case you don’t like to carry it around, you can always use it to store the contents of the kit.

The speed wrench makes it fairly easy to install the Vapor COMP on your handset. I also like that fact that the wrench holds two extra case screws for when you might lose one.

Coming to the Vapor COMP itself, it is without a doubt one of the most stylish iPhone 4/4S cases I have ever come across. The case consists of a CNC machined aluminum frame, powder coated with a gloss white finish and a clear side polycarbonate cap which is hand polished and white painted from the back.

The task of installing the Vapor COMP on the iPhone is made pretty easy with the supplied speed wrench. Simply unscrew the four screws, two on top and two at the bottom of the clear side polycarbonate cap, fit in the iPhone and tighten the screws again. Simple!

Once I was done with the installation, the first thing I noticed was how good the Vapor COMP felt in my hand, apart from the fact how cool my white iPhone 4S looked in it. Since the aluminum frame is internally lined with a clear TPU insert, it provides both an excellent grip as well as an added level of shock protection.

The included white polycarbonate protective back plate is adhesive based, precisely cut to fit the iPhone’s back glass with camera and flash cutouts. To install, simply peel it off and stick the back plate directly on the iPhone.

Unlike majority of bumper cases, Vapor COMP’s polycarbonate side cap has built-in volume button rocker which is not only protective but also as responsive as pressing the iPhone’s bare metal buttons.

While I was a bit worried that my Westone UM2 earphones won’t fit the headphone jack as some owners have reported that not all 3.5mm headphone plugs fit in the Vapor COMP, I luckily had no issues fitting them in. Similarly, the dock connector opening is good enough to support most third-party accessories.

Frankly speaking, I really couldn’t find a reason not to love this exceptionally well made case, apart from from it being a bit more expensive than majority of bumpers in the market. But then again, the awesomeness of Vapor COMP never fails to justify its higher price tag.

In short, Element Case Vapor COMP is one of the most amazing cases you can buy for your iPhone 4/4S, that will not only provide excellent protection for your handset but also add a touch of style and luxury that no other case in the market can match. Highly recommended!
