Jonathan Ive Buys A $25 Million House On San Francisco’s Gold Coast
Apple’s senior vice president of industrial design Jonathan Ive a.k.a Jony Ive, who is widely credited for his unique industrial designs of the iPod and iPhone, has reportedly purchased a $25 million house on one of San Francisco’s most exclusive blocks (via WSJ).
According to people familiar with the deal, Jony, who has been living in San Francisco with his wife and children, has paid $17 million for the house on San Francisco’s “Gold Coast,” which was listed for $25 million. Here are some details of the property:
“Designed by the architectural firm Willis Polk & Co, the five-level brick home was completed in 1927 and has six bedrooms and eight full bathrooms and one half bathroom. The 7,274-square-foot house also features views of the San Francisco Bay, an oak-paneled library, a courtyard garden and six wood-burning fireplaces. An upstairs bedroom has cathedral ceilings with exposed beams, while on the lower level there is a two-bedroom, one bathroom staff apartment”.
Jony Ive has led Apple’s design team since 1996. He is one of Apple’s most well-known executives and a close friend of Steve Jobs. According to WSJ, he could not be reached for comment on his most recent luxury purchase while an Apple spokesman declined to comment.
