Teardown Of iPhone 5 Hits The Web Before Tomorrow’s Launch [PHOTOS]

German blog iPhone-Garage must have received their iPhone 5 unit early because they have just posted a teardown ahead of the iPhone release. It isn’t our typical detailed teardown that we see with iFixit every year, however it’s still interesting to see how Apple organizes the internals.

As seen above, the iPhone 5 outer-shelling is removed and the battery among many random internal parts can be seen. Continue on below for additional images:

Now, to show just how different the iPhone 4S internals were packed down compared to the iPhone 5, we have a photo below. Hopefully you can see that the battery is larger and has swapped from the left to right side.

One of the largest reasons that Apple had to pursue a different layout regarded the headphone jack and slimmer profile. The iPhone 5 is 17% slimmer than its predecessor, but includes better battery life amid LTE and others.

Rumours said it was 1440, but I recently heard it might be 1700 mAh. The battery doesn’t really say from the photos :/

Why is there less standby time on the iPhone 5? That doesn’t really make sense. :s
