JBL’s New J Series Premium Headphones Promise The Best Bang For Your Buck

JBL has just unveiled a new lineup of its premium headphones, that promise to deliver acoustic performance that outdoes competing models sold at twice the price. The new JBL J Series features the on-ear J55 and J55i, the over-ear J88 and J88i and the in-ear J22, J22i, J33 and J33i models. The “i” version of each model comes with a built-in remote / microphone for iPhone compatibility.

The JBL J88 and J88i over-ear headphones feature powerful 2-inch (50-millimeter) drivers for class-leading bass clarity, three color options (black, white or orange/white), leather ear cushions, DJ-styled flip-up ear cups, a locking mechanism for the detachable cable and a padded carry pouch. The J88i over-ear headphones include a three-button Apple mic/remote.

The JBL J88 has a suggested retail price of $129.95, and the JBL J88i has a suggested retail price of $149.95.

The JBL J55 and J55i on-ear headphones feature premium 1-5/8-inch (40-millimeter) drivers, three color options (black, white or orange/white), leather ear cushions, DJ-styled flip-up ear cups, a locking mechanism for the detachable cable and a padded carry pouch. The J55i on-ear headphones include a three- button Apple mic/remote.

The JBL J55 has a suggested retail price of $79.95, while the JBL J55i has a suggested retail price of $99.95.

The JBL J22 and J22i in-ear headphones feature high-performance drivers and distinctive metal trim. The headphones’ flat audio cable is protected by a thick, flexible strain-relief guard where the cable enters the headphone housing. The J22i in-ear headphones include a three-button Apple mic/remote.

The JBL J22 has a suggested retail price of $39.95, while the JBL J22i has a suggested retail price of $59.95.

 The JBL J33 and J33i in-ear headphones feature premium, nickel-plated drivers that deliver extended frequency response in the high and low ends. The headphones’ distinctive strain-relief grip reduces cable wear by reducing pressure where the cable meets the headphone housing. The attractive strain- relief grip also keeps the cable from lying atop the listener’s ear but still keeps it close to the body.

The JBL J33 has a suggested retail price of $59.95, while the JBL J33i has a suggested retail price of $79.95.
