‘iPhone 5’ Ranks 2nd in Yahoo! Canada’s Top 10 Searches of 2012
Yahoo! Canada has released their 2012 Year in Review, and Apple’s iPhone 5 has taken the second spot in the top 10 searches, behind Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. The latest iPhone was able to beat out stars of the Twilight series Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison:
“Yahoo! Canada’s Year in Review 2012 reflects the daily search habits of users and highlights the top stories and trends based on what millions of people worldwide searched for,” says Justine Melman at Yahoo!. “It is a distinct way to portray a society in motion through online behavior.”

- Higgs Boson

Almost a week ago Microsoft’s Bing search engine announced the iPhone 5 was the most searched news story of 2012. The six generation iPhone debuted in September and sold over 5 million units in its opening weekend. Apple Stores in Canada have just recently started to sell factory unlocked units as of last Thursday, after we first reported the company decided to avoid retail sales during the initial launch.
