TELUS has announced the launch of its 4G LTE network today in Moncton, Jasper and Hinton.
The launch in Moncton is part of its $8.4 million investment in Atlantic Canada over the next three years to expand wireless networks. Earlier this year we saw 4G LTE launch in St. John’s and Halifax. By the end of 2012, more communities will also experience the new network.
“TELUS is committed to offering the best customer experience and launching our 4G LTE service in New Brunswick is an excellent example of how we’re doing that,” said Ken Power, director of sales, TELUS.
Other 4G LTE launches today include Hinton, part of a $1.4 million investment in that area; other launches in Alberta include Jasper, part of a separate $400,000 investment. TELUS aims to cover 80% of the province’s population by the end of the year.

This is sort of unrelated, but on the note of LTE, I will say that anecdotally, Montreal on Roger’s (Fido’s) network seems to be much faster than Vancouver with better reception. Not sure why, oversaturation, topography? My iphone 5 was regularly switching back to 3g and the signal was weaker on average.
