Telus to Invest $8.4M in Atlantic Canada to Expand 4G LTE Network

Telus announced this morning it will invest $8.4 million over three years in Atlantic Canada to expand their 4G LTE network. To date, the company has spent over $45 million in Atlantic provinces since 2000, and the new investment will result in the creation of 65 jobs.

Nova Scotia will receive $5 million in investments and $3.8 million will be targeted towards the Halifax Regional Municipality, to expand 4G LTE service.

“The demand for wireless services is exploding in Atlantic Canadaand TELUS is committed to making investments in infrastructure and technology to better serve our customers and their communities. We are deeply grateful for the hard work and outstanding commitment of our more than 240 local team members and retirees in support of our customers. At the same time, hiring more than 65 people will help us support the future economic prosperity of Atlantic Canada.”

So far, Telus has announced 4G LTE investments in Toronto, Quebec and Manitoba.

Furthermore, Halifax is set to host the TELUS World Skins Game for the first time, set to take place July 29-31 at Glen Arbour Golf Course. Featured PGA Tour players participating include Stephen Ames, Paul Casey, Carl Pettersson, Jhonattan Vegas and Lucas Glover. Kevin Costner and Tom Cochrane will also be attending to play in the pro-am.
