Apple to Release iPhone 5S in August, Next Gen iPads This April?

According to Rene Ritchie from iMore, his sources note Apple is set to release the iPhone 5S this summer (in August) and next generation iPads as early as this April:

iMore has learned that Apple is planning the release of the iPhone 5S for this summer, currently for August. Next generation iPads, presumably the iPad 5 and potentially the iPad mini 2, may also debut as soon as this April.

Sources familiar with the plans have told iMore that the iPhone 5S does indeed have the same basic design as the iPhone 5, with a more advanced processor and an improved camera.

Just like any other “S” upgrade for the iPhone, Apple is said to release a device with a faster processor and improved optics for the camera in the same design as the already thin and light iPhone 5.

As for the “April-ish” launch date for next generation iPads, there is nothing certain about what will come, but a 9.7-inch iPad with iPad mini design cues would be safe to assume, but as for Retina for the iPad mini, that is not concrete at this time. Ritchie has solid sources that have been correct numerous times in the past, so these tidbits are worth noting.

Earlier tonight analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities reiterated his predictions Apple is set to launch the iPhone 5S (with a fingerprint sensor) in June/July, along with a lower cost iPhone with a hybrid plastic/fibre glass back.

All of these rumours seemingly fall in line with what was reported last week, about the iPhone 5S launching in August, possibly utilizing a worldwide band chipset, making it a true world phone.
