How To Downgrade iOS 7 Beta To iOS 6.1.3 / 6.1.4 [Tutorial]

Tutorial

For those who have upgraded their devices to iOS 7 but are looking to downgrade back to iOS 6.1.3 on their iPhone 4S, iPod touch 5, iPhone 4 or iOS 6.1.4 on their iPhone 5, here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to do so (via RedmondPie). Like always, remember to back up your data using iTunes before starting the process.

Step 1:

First of all, download iOS 6.1.3 if you own an iPhone 4, iPhone 4S or iPod touch 5, or download iOS 6.1.4 if you’re downgrading an iPhone 5.

Step 2:

Now connect your device to the computer using the USB cable and launch iTunes.

Step 3:

On the screen where you have “Check for Update” and “Restore” options, click on “Restore” while holding down the option key on a Mac or shift key on Windows.

Step 4:

Now browse and select the download iOS 6.1.3 / 6.1.4 .IPSW file and click OK.

Step 5:

Once the restore process is finished, you’ll have iOS 6.1.3 / 6.1.4 running on your device.

That’s it, enjoy!

Anyone who is smart enough to install iOS 7 on their device should realize how easy it is to downgrade without using a tutorial. I upgraded to iOS 7 last night and it looks nice I must say. The pics dont do it justice. you have to experience it. some parts look weird tho and will take some getting use to but it is a beta so it could drastically change. Still needs some tweaks and it was making my iPhone really hot! I removed it and downgraded to iOS 6 not because I didn’t like it, but because of the serious battery drain. Once the later betas come out, I might try it again..

Alright, i upgraded to iOS 7 and i loved it at first on my iphone 4, but after many glitches and just being slow because its beta i decided to downgrade back to ios 6.1.3. i am positive my ipsw file works because i have used it before to restore to. but now that i have iOS 7 itunes comes up with the error, iphone can not be restored because firmware file is incompatible. is there another program i could use to downgrade besides itunes? i have a iphone 4 CDMA.

doesn’t work for me – I get a message that this device is ineligible for the requested build

apparently the only way to actually downgrade is to DUF mode it and restore the whole thing… that sucks
