Bell Announces Mobile TV Service Hits 1 Million Subscribers

Bell has announced its Bell Mobile TV service has “welcomed its one millionth subscriber”. The service offers access to over 40 channels and of live and on-demand sports, news, entertainment and children’s programming.

“Bell invited consumers to pick a screen and fill it with goodness – and a million Canadians have now done so with Bell Mobile TV on their smartphones and tablets,” said Wade Oosterman, President of Bell Mobility. “Bell has made the heavy investments in high-speed data networks, high-demand programming, and TV-capable mobile devices that let consumers take TV anywhere. We’re proud to have staked out an international leadership position for Canada in the fast-growth mobile TV sector.”

Bell Mobile TV is available as a bonus add-on with most Bell Mobility plans, while others can also subscribe to the service for 10 hours of mobile network viewing for $5 per month, which does not affect their data plan.

Recently the Bell Mobile TV app was rebranded to Bell TV and allowed existing Fibe TV and Satellite TV subscriptions to watch live TV over Wi-Fi.
