Apple Sent These Gorgeous Mac Pro Posters to Journalists [PICS]
Apple has send out some Mac Pro posters to select members of the media to promote the new Mac Pro, set to launch in December. These tall posters measuring 36″x 25″ arrived in a mysterious black tube to show gorgeous images of the all-new high end Mac and its unique design:

The back of one of the posters reads:
It’s the computer we were insane to build. The one that turns conventional thinking on its head, then kicks the living $#&% out of it. We challenged all our assumptions. Abandoned our preconceptions. And blew away limitation after limitation. This is the new Mac Pro. It’s like no Mac we’ve created before. And we can’t wait to see what you create with it.
Apple PR just sent me 5 Mac Pro art posters in the most heavy-duty black mailing tube. Now if they’d only send me a Mac Pro…

You can check out a gallery of the images here at Jeff Carlson’s Flickr page. Over at TidBITS, he writes:
What strikes me more than the images is the tube: it’s not some cheapo mailing tube you’d get in an office supply store. It’s heavy-duty cardboard, dark gray on the outside and white on the inside, with glossy reflective caps. And in a very Apple touch, the way the caps fit is nearly seamless—it took some work to get my fingernails under the cap to open it up.

It seems Apple was quite random in their mail out of posters, as Carlson admits his Mac column at the Seattle Times only appears monthly–but he did go into detail about the poster tube, so that might be something.

I find it sad that Apple is pushing the new Mac Pro so much. They’re playing ads for it in front of movies in the theatre as well.
Not sad because it’s not a good product, but sad because this is a product that the majority of people wouldn’t buy, which means the only reason they’re advertising it is because they want to push an image of innovation and it’s the only product in their lineup that can say that about them right now.
