MacRumors reports sources mention US stores will accept iPad Air requests for Personal Pickup, which allows customers to reserve and pick up at a nearby store without waiting in line. Will Apple retail stores in Canada have an in-store pick up option for the iPad Air on launch day? The answer is: no. The confirmation comes from Apple’s online store chat support:
The agent notes in store pick up is available in the USA, but reiterated for some items “but typically not new items on launch day.”
Apple implemented Reserve and Pick Up in Canada for the iPhone 5 last November, but we did not see this for the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c, which leads us to believe the same policy will not happen for the new iPad Air or Retina iPad mini, which Apple confirmed.

I’m actually wondering the same thing myself. Not sure how big the demand is going to be. I would think a good percentage of people will wait for the retina mini. I wouldn’t think it would be as popular as a new iphone launch…

Yep. I’m just still debating between ordering online at midnight or taking my chances on going to the store in the morning.
This is a no-brainer if you’re in Vancouver – it is much cheaper and faster to reserve online and go down to Lynwood, WA to pick it up than to wait overnight at Pacific Centre.
Or how about wait about a month or so, when there is an abundance. Waiting in line and even driving down to the states specifically to pick one up is just stupid.
