‘Rogers Place’ Will Be the Home of the Edmonton Oilers in 2016
Rogers has announced it has secured arena naming rights with the Edmonton Oilers. The new Rogers Place will be the home of the NHL hockey team starting in 2016, expanding Rogers’ thirteen-year sponsorship of the Oilers.

John Boynton, Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Communications:
“Rogers Place will be one of the most technologically enabled stadiums in North America; we look forward to bringing passionate fans a connected game experience powered by the country’s fastest LTE network.”
Mayor Don Iveson said, “This is a great day for Edmonton’s downtown and our city. Rogers Place will become a beacon in our downtown, one that will foster a new sense of energy that will further attract development and investment in the heart of our city.”
Oilers President and CEO Patrick LaForge said “Our long term partnership with Rogers is a natural fit.”
Last week Rogers signed a landmark $5.2 billion deal with the NHL for Canadian rights, which spans 12 years.
Rogers Place now adds to the existing roster of naming rights to stadiums, joining Rogers Arena in Vancouver and Rogers Centre stadium in Toronto.
What do you think about this new arena name, Oilers fans?

Still need to acquire 28 more arena naming right deals. They appear to be well on their way to increasing my Rogers bill again.
hahaha you so smart. me want to… nvm.
quiet you. we all know you’re with Wind Mobile.
Nah, sometimes I wish I wasn’t with Rogers though. No service issues to speak of but I hate paying that bill every month. Cable, Internet, Home Phone and two iPhones adds up each month.
Crap name for a crap team 😉
I kid, I kid… I’m honestly a bit jealous. At least they are getting a new rink. We are still stuck with our flooded POS saddledome…
Can’t wait to sit in there! Hopefully we’ll be doing good by then…. Hahah
