iPhone Duo Prices in Canada: Rogers, Telus, Bell and Freedom Compared

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is now available to pre-order in Canada, and Rogers, Bell, Telus and Freedom Mobile have revealed their financing prices.

Monthly device payments for the 256GB iPhone Duo range from $77.12 to $109.96, but that’s only part of the story. You’ll also need a wireless plan, and some carriers require you to return the phone after two years or pay extra to keep it.

It’s a similar situation to the iPhone 18 Pro carrier pricing we compared last month, where the lowest advertised phone payment didn’t necessarily mean the cheapest deal.

Here’s how the four carriers compare, based on their listed offers with $0 down. All prices are in Canadian dollars, before taxes.

iPhone Duo Carrier Pricing in Canada

Carrier Phone/month Plan/month Total/month
Bell $77.12 $105 $182.12
Telus $91.00 $95 $186.00
Rogers $98.77 $85 $183.77
Freedom $109.96 $70 $179.96

Prices are based on the listed 256GB iPhone Duo offers. Monthly totals include the selected wireless plans but exclude taxes, one-time fees and any additional amount needed to keep the phone after 24 months.

What Each Carrier Is Offering

Bell: $182.12/month combined

Bell offers the lowest device payment at $77.12 per month through SmartPay with the Flex Option, paired with a minimum $105 Ultra plan.

You’ll pay $1,850.88 toward the phone over two years. At the end, you can return it or pay the remaining $1,233.79 to keep it.

The full retail price is $3,084.48, and there’s also a one-time $40 device handling fee. That’s the same charge the CRTC previously warned Bell could violate federal rules.

Telus: $186/month combined

Telus charges $91 per month for the phone through Easy Payment with Bring-It-Back, paired with a $95 Easy Roam plan.

You’ll pay $2,184 over 24 months, then either return the phone or pay the remaining Bring-It-Back amount to keep it. Based on the listed $3,084 retail price, that difference is $900.

Telus also charges a $25 shipping fee, while Bell offers free delivery.

Rogers: $183.77/month combined

Rogers charges $98.77 per month for the iPhone Duo with Save & Return, paired with its $85 5G+ Lite plan.

You’ll pay $2,370.48 toward the phone over two years. After that, you can return it or pay $714 to keep it. Rogers also offers the option to spread that remaining amount over another 12 or 24 months.

Rogers is advertising up to $600 in bill credits with an eligible trade-in. A $25 shipping fee also applies.

These extra charges have been controversial. Earlier this year, the CRTC questioned new fees introduced by Rogers, Bell and Telus after federal rules banning certain switching and activation charges took effect.

Freedom Mobile: $179.96/month combined

Freedom has the highest device payment at $109.96 per month, paired with its $70 plan that includes 250GB of data.

However, Freedom’s offer is different because it’s straightforward financing. There’s no return-the-phone requirement. After making all 24 payments, you keep the iPhone Duo.

Freedom lists the phone at $2,999, matching Apple’s price. With $360 in MyTab savings, you’ll pay $2,639 over two years.

You can also choose a cheaper wireless plan. For example, Freedom’s $35 plan with 35GB of data increases the phone payment to $124.96, bringing the combined monthly cost to $159.96.

That actually works out to less per month than the other three carriers in this comparison, and you get to keep the phone after two years.

What’s the Catch With Bring-It-Back Plans?

Bell, Telus and Rogers offer lower monthly payments because you’re not paying off the entire phone during the first two years.

Instead, part of the cost is deferred. After 24 months, you have two choices: return the iPhone Duo in acceptable condition or pay the remaining amount to keep it.

That amount can be substantial. Bell customers face a $1,233.79 deferred amount, compared with $900 based on Telus’ listed pricing and $714 at Rogers.

Freedom’s MyTab offer works differently. You’re paying off the phone over two years, with no deferred buyout at the end.

Is Buying From Apple Cheaper?

Apple sells the 256GB iPhone Duo for $2,999 outright, or $124.96 per month over 24 months with financing. That’s the starting price, while the most expensive 2TB model costs $4,799 before taxes.

Buying directly from Apple gives you more flexibility to choose your wireless plan without being tied to a carrier’s return program. You can also compare cheaper bring-your-own-device plans rather than paying for a more expensive plan just to qualify for lower phone payments.

Freedom’s $360 MyTab savings can make its offer cheaper for eligible customers who complete the agreement, although you’ll need to consider the cost of the required wireless plan.

And if you’re planning to keep Apple’s foldable for several years, remember that iPhone Duo repairs aren’t cheap. Replacing the inner folding display alone costs an estimated $1,499 without warranty coverage.
