5.5-inch Display ‘iPhone Air’ Mockup Compared with iPhone 5s [PICS]

The folks over at Nowhereelse.fr have today published a photo comparison of 5.5-inch ‘iPhone Air’ mockup with an iPhone 5s, showing just how large a 5.5” device will be when compared to the current generation iPhones. The physical mockup measuring 157 x 78 x 6.7 mm was designed using a MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Printer on the basis of dimensions that were leaked back in March.

[Machine Translation] “Yesterday, photos of a protective shell that is designed to protect a hypothetical iPhone 6 with a screen of 5.5 inches diagonally potentially showed us the dimensions of this model that some have already dubbed iPhone Air (read : iPhone 6: The dimensions of the iPhone Air revealed! ) …I return briefly to the case of the oversized model following the discovery of a series of photographs featuring a new model made by a Hidenori Satou.”

The mockup clearly shows a significantly longer and wider device than the iPhone 5s, and also sports a much thinner profile that matches closely with that of the current generation iPod touch. It also features elongated volume buttons and curved edges similar to the iPod touch, which are markedly different from the hard corners of the iPhone 5s. Beyond the basic form factor, the resin-based mockup does not reveal any finer details.
