OS X Yosemite-Compatible Macs Are the Same as Mavericks [LIST]
Earlier this week Apple announced OS X Yosemite–set to debut this fall for free–at WWDC and left many are wondering “will my Mac support OS X Yosemite?”
Well, according to Ars Technica, “any Mac that can run OS X 10.8 or 10.9 can also run 10.10, a list that includes Macs from as far back as 2007.” So that means if your Mac is currently able to run Mavericks, you’re good to go for Yosemite.
Apple hasn’t made any new hardware requirements for their next version of OS X, which is great for customers. Below is a list of Macs that will run OS X Yosemite:
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
