iOS 8 Will Allow Users to Scan Credit Card Info for Quick Entry in Safari

Looks like making credit card purchases in iOS 8 will be easier thanks to a new feature that will utilize the device camera to scan in payment details, reports 9to5Mac.

As you can see in the screenshot below, users will have an option to ‘Scan Credit Card’ when inserting payment info and details will be filled:

Users will also be able to add a credit card using this camera method via Safari’s Autofill settings within iOS 8:

Settings > Safari > Passwords & Autofill > Saved Credit Cards > Add Credit Card

All you have to do is position your credit card within the guided on-screen frame and your info should autofill:

Apple already allows users to use their device cameras for similar purposes when it comes to redeeming gift cards and Starbucks promo cards via the App Store.
