Bell and Telus Price Drops: iPhone 5s Now $99.95, All iPhone 5c Models $0 on Contract [u]

If you’re the type that signs contracts, Bell and Telus have lowered the price of the iPhone 5s across the board. The entry level 16GB iPhone 5s now starts at $99.95 from Bell and $100 from Telus on two-year terms.

Bell is offering the 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5s for $199.95 and $309.95 respectively, which is the exact same pricing as Telus except the latter is charging 5 cents more. As we are relatively late into the iPhone product cycle, the larger discounts always appear for subsidized contracts.

Both Bell and Telus also are offering both 16GB and 32GB iPhone 5c models for $0 on a two-year term.

As of writing, Rogers has not matched any of these discounts (yet) and neither have the sub brands of these companies (Virgin, Koodo, Fido). Expect that to change in the near future.

Apple’s next iPhone 6 is rumoured to launch this fall, so these price drops are ways to get sign ups and get rid of excess inventory. Let us know if you’re going to jump on this.

Update: Rogers has now discounted the iPhone 5c to $0 too.

Thanks–did you mean on the iPhone 5c? The iPhone 5s is still showing $179.

Have they raised their prices now? Both Rogers and Bell now show the 5s as $229… What gives?

Do you think the price will fall again for the 5S 32GB right after the iPhone 6 comes out? The new phone is a week away, and I am not sure if I should get the 5S now to beat the stampede of people in the stores trying to buy the 6, or wait another week or two in case the price will drop right after the new phone release. I have an iPhone 4 which once worked beautifully, but for months now has been slow as molasses due to an iOS upgrade to fix a vulnerability patch. I am tired of using a glitchy phone.

I would check classifieds for iPhone 5s deals right now! The price was set by apple, already $99 on contract for iPhone 5s, just hope the new 8gb models don’t come in yet. I’d wait for an ever steeper sale or deal.

Thanks for your quick response, Gary.

I’ll check them out, but I’ve never bought a used phone. My original 4 was stolen so I have a natural aversion to buying on classifieds, unless I know the seller. (Luckily, Apple didn’t grant the transfer of my other iPhone to the caller because they didn’t know my Apple ID. And it was stolen one week before Find My Phone came out!) I would expect the 5Ss listed are more because of the 6 coming out, but who knows?
