Apple users have long backed various projects on Kickstarter and today the company has announced a couple security features to add layers of protection to your account.
Users can now enable two-factor authentication and also track IP history. Two-factor authentication requires users to enter a special pass code on top of their password when logging in from an unfamiliar device or computer. Kickstarter can send you these pass codes via text, voicemail or via the Google Authenticator iOS app.
IP history shows you where your account has been accessed so if you see anything weird, you know it’s time to change your password or enable two-factor authentication. With so many companies seeing hacks and security leaks nowadays, two-factor authentication should always be enabled if it’s available for your accounts.
