Apple’s Jony Ive, Marc Newson Arrive at Apple Watch Pop-Up Event in Paris [PICS]

In line yesterday’s reports, Apple and Parisian fashion boutique Colette have teamed up for a unique event on the old continent: the first public appearance of the Apple Watch in Europe.

The Apple Watch was announced earlier this month during a media event, but that was in the US. For today only, Colette has exclusivity to show off Apple’s latest innovation, the Apple Watch, at its gallery on Rue Saint Honoré in Paris, as part of Apple’s effort for a spot in the Parisian fashion week.

In the Colette gallery, visitors can see – alongside fashion divas and influencers – both the 38 mm and 42 mm version of the Apple Watch. However, according to MacGeneration, the models displayed are from each of the available collections, including an edition with an 18-karat gold casing and sapphire display.

As you may expect from such an event, members of Apple’s design team are participating, alongside invited journalists. Both Jony Ive and the freshly hired Marc Newson have been captured on camera, as well as some high-profile fashion influencers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue Editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, etc.

Apple announced the Apple Watch on September 9, but the device will not hit the shelves until early 2015, at a starting price of $349.

Designers – from fashion as well as other forms – are generally the worst dressers, or at least the most boring. They tend to stick to a style (Lagerfeld, RL) or stay very simplistic. Contrary to what they sell.

See this is what will make it a huge hit. once they get Hollywood and this group on board then it will take off like mad, regardless of function. Other companies can say what they like but they don’t have this ability. oh sure Samsung tries but it never quite get it, so much so that even their sponsors still use the iPhone, and soon watch.

Samsung’s celebrity sponsors aren’t necessarily using the iphone. Their social media accounts are often controlled by PR firms. More often than not, these firms are the ones that inadvertently tweet or post from devices that aren’t consistent with the brands their clients are representing.
