Last Friday Apple launched online pre-order for their new iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Those who made orders for the iPad Air 2 have started to receive shipment notifications and UPS tracking numbers, with an expected delivery date of October 30, 2014, which is six days past this week’s upcoming October 24 launch date.
Typically, online pre-orders part of the first wave normally arrive on launch days. It’ll be interesting to see if this order arrives earlier than its estimated date.

I got a notification from Apple last night that it had shipped and expected deliver date was October 24. Then I got a notice this morning from UPS that says: “THE SERVICE SELECTED IS NOT AVAILABLE TO THIS DESTINATION ADDRESS. THIS HAS DELAYED DELIVERY. THE SERVICE HAS BEEN CHANGED AND THE DELIVERY IS BEING RESCHEDULED.” I’ve not received an updated date of delivery yet. Still pending.

What time did you order? I haven’t got any shipment notification yet. I also live in Edmonton.
I ordered around 12:15 pm, through education store ($20 less). Originally placed regular order at 9:10 am but after reading somewhere it was discounted thru education store, xcelled it and reordered 3 hours later.
I had the same notice. It says it’s in Chengdu now. But I’m not sure what the point of pre-ordering is if we have to wait until a week AFTER launch to receive our packages. I too ordered within an hour of the store launching.
Mine has left Chengdu, went to Incheon, Korea and has since departed as of 9:56 pm their time today (almost 14 hours after arriving there). 🙁
Just checked and as of 12:19 h my pkg is now in Anchorage, AK. Looks like it just may get here by Friday…maybe. 🙂

Left Incheon to go to Anchorage, AK. Left Anchorage yesterday afternoon and landed in Louisville, KY early this morning. Left Louisville after 5 this morning (their time). Scheduled for delivery some time today (Oct. 23). Yay!

As a head’s up, mine was in Calgary. Received an exception notice about it being held (customs) and then cleared. As of 10:00 h it has departed Calgary. Just waiting for it to say “On local truck” and I can let out the breath I’ve been holding.

Why is mine coming from Ontario while others are having their iPads shipped from China?

Mine says the 23rd but I’m guessing once it gets scanned in locally it will get delayed. But there also isn’t as much hype compared to the iPhones so maybe ….
