Apple Updates App Store Guidelines With Enforced Rules Against Low-Effort Apps
Within the App Store Guidelines support page, Apple urges developers not to "submit apps that are indistinguishable from what's already widely available."
Must Have: Camera+ is Currently Free via the Apple Store iOS App
If you don’t have Camera+ yet (our favourite photo editor), you can now download it for free via the Apple Store iOS app, the first time the app has gone free! Here’s how to do it:
1. Download the Apple Store iOS app. Tap the Stores tab and scroll to the bottom and tap on Camera+:
2. Tap on ‘Download now for free’ and follow the prompts. You will be taken to the App Store and given a promo code to redeem.
3. Enjoy!
Camera+ 6 debuted in late September and brings a new design with full manual controls for the camera. It normally retails for $1.99 but it’s free via the Apple Store iOS app.

Update: If you’re getting an error, try force closing the Apple Store iOS app and try it again.

it says Error this code has already been redeemed
Trying to do this from my iPad Air, I guess it’s really only for iPhone?
The free download worked on my iPhone 5S, but not on my iPad. No code needed, I just selected “Redeem” and it downloaded.
I got the error ‘This code has already been redeemed”, just close the app and relaunch it and you’ll get a different code and it should work, I had to do this 2 times to get a code that worked.
Doesn’t work
I just clicked Redeem and the code was automatically populated. Worked for me on iPhone 5 and iOS8.1
Didn’t work. Says already been redeemed. I force closed several times. Sme code keeps coming up. Sucks! Was thinking it would a be a cool free app.

Looks like you have to upgrade to iOS 8 in order to redeem the code.
There is a way around the iOS 8 restriction. If you are still on iOS 7 due to Jailbreak reasons, all you need to do is copy the code you get in the App Store App, and redeem it on the “desktop” version of iTunes.
