Apple Highlights a Few Apps for Remembrance Day [LIST]

Today is Remembrance Day, where Canadians coast to coast remember the men and women who have served our country in times of war and peace and for the sacrifices they have made.

Apple has highlighted a few apps in the App Store for Remembrance Day:

  • Ace Academy: fly biplanes from the Canada Aviation and Space Museum to get a feel for how dangerous it was to fly during WWI.
  • The Royal Canadian Legion: this app allows users to find branches, showcases Legion news and also provides info on how to become a member.
  • Veterans Matter: the official Veterans Affairs Canada mobile app; details where to find an event or ceremony near you, locate VAC offices and more.

Our pick for a neat iPad app worth checking out is The Fallen, a free interactive app designed for “a new way to remember for a new generation.” It includes a global map of cemeteries and memorials of fallen Canadian soldiers plus has a searchable fallen soldier database and more.

Lest we forget our fallen heroes.
