Chevron to Bring Apple Pay to the Gas Pumps in Early 2015
According to a tweet, Chevron is planning to bring Apple Pay to gas pumps in early 2015. The tweet, which was posted in reply to a customer comment, says that the oil company is working with Apple to develop a solution to integrate Apple Pay at their gas stations.

The oil company already supports Apple Pay inside many of its stores, which is less convenient than a pump-side option. Chevron was one of the first companies to announce a partnership with Apple to integrate the iPhone-based mobile payment solution.
“Support for Apple Pay at the pump has been in the works at Chevron for several months, with a Chevron spokesperson stating that the company was working with Apple on developing pump-side options in mid-October. As the only gas stations accepting Apple Pay, Chevron and Texaco gas stations may be able to get a leg up on the competition by luring iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users looking for a more convenient way to pay for gas purchases. “
Apple’s contactless mobile payment solution has seen impressive early adoption numbers since its launch in October, given that it is only available on Apple’s latest devices, it is supported by a limited number of merchants, and it is only available in the United States.
@Chevron what about…Canada?
