Designer Creates Apple Watch Mockups of your Favourite iOS Apps [PICS]
With the Apple Watch launch scheduled for early 2015 (possibly for March), many of us are wondering how apps will look on the tiny screen of the wearable. Digital agency Huge moved forward and created a rendering of how popular apps like Uber, Instagram, and Fandango may look on the Apple Watch (via Fast Company).
The Apple Watch’s potential actually lies in the limitations imposed by its hardware, enabling a whole new way of interactions with the help of the Taptic Engine, Voice Command, and the digital crown. The renderings posted by Huge have no relation to the apps and their creators, but they do offer a quick look at the possibilities the hardware enables.
Features such as native voice control, haptic feedback, and a digital crown that can be used to magnify, scroll or zoom within apps crack open a whole new world of design requirements and opportunities.
One of the apps envisioned by Huge is Uber. The app could take full advantage of the notification system by keeping the user up to date with the car’s location and estimated time of arrival. Also, with an Apple Watch on their hands, owners will tend to use it to call Uber rather than taking out their iPhone.
Among the envisioned apps, we find Foursquare, Chase, Fandango, Instagram, The New York Times, while other use cases include iBeacon, To-Do List, and Navigation. Take a look and let us know if you like what you see.
