Universal Pictures Announces Start of Steve Jobs Biopic Filming

After many months of back and forth, the next Steve Jobs biopic has officially begun shooting in San Francisco, Universal Pictures has announced. The updated IMDb page was spotted by Slashfilm (via 9to5Mac) and now contains the full cast and crew, as well as other information related to the movie.

The announcement also reveals that the final script will follow the original structure Aaron Sorkin mentioned in previous interviews. Interestingly, the three iconic product launches end in 1998 with the launch of the iMac.

Universal Pictures today announced that principal photography has commenced in San Francisco on Steve Jobs. Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, the film takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.

As Slashfilm highlights, the other two keynotes are the launch of the original Macintosh and that of the NeXT computer.

While confirming earlier rumours, the Universal Pictures the full cast of the biopic: Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice, Being Flynn) as Chrisann Brennan, Jeff Daniels as John Sculley (HBO’s The Newsroom, Good Night, and Good Luck), Makenzie Moss (upcoming Do You Believe?) as the 5-year-old Lisa Jobs, Tom O’Reilly as a VIP member, and other actors.
