Announces the ‘Top 20 Canadian Cities That Love to Read’ [LIST] has announced its third annual list of top Canadian Cities that Love to Read, based on sales data of print and Kindle books from April 2014 to April 2015, and cities that have over 100,000 residents per capita.

The Top 20 Canadian Cities are listed below:

  • Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • Edmonton, Alberta
  • Regina, Saskatchewan
  • London, Ontario
  • Toronto, Ontario
  • Kitchener, Ontario
  • Ottawa, Ontario
  • Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • Burnaby, British Columbia
  • Mississauga, Ontario
  • Richmond, British Columbia
  • Windsor, Ontario
  • Gatineau, Quebec
  • Surrey, British Columbia
  • Markham, Ontario
  • Brampton, Ontario
  • Halifax, Nova Scotia
  • Hamilton, Ontario

Vancouver took the top spot this year and ranked first in over half of the categories, as residents bought the most cooking, travel, self-improvement, business and health books (must be all that rain?). The westcoast also showed the most interested in books related to healthy eating and gourmet cooking, as Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon and Edmonton led these categories.

Saskatoon residents purchased the most books written by Canadian authors, while the most Kindle books purchased happened in Calgary, Regina and Saskatchewan.
