so i now have a radio section in the music app, and beats 1 plays, but the dozens of other stations (including a bunch that appear to be top billed for canadian content) just give an error when i try to play them. is this a glitch or by design?

what a crappy ui choice if intentional. “check out our new app, its full of broken buttons for things we can stream to you!”

They work over here. Really weird that they don’t work, hearing this from others too.

It started working the moment I signed up for the free trial. Which is kinda misleading since most literature suggests the radio should still work without apple music membership. Maybe its first day glitchiness, I’ve gotten a number of song load failures as I’ve been checking it out.

It is only the beats 1 radio that is free. All other radio stations require you to sign up.

literally the article below this one directly contradicts that. “If you don’t have an Apple Music membership, you can skip up to six tracks per hour per music station. ” That suggests a plurality of stations should be available, not just beats 1.

actually you are right. just found the apple support doc that states apple radio is only available with a music membership in canada. but the level of clarity and the fact that UI-wise it simply presents itself as an error with no sign up prompt is reinforcing my belief that apple is no longer the champion of user experience they once were.

also nothing about apple music works on my laptop, updated to the latest iTunes and OS X.

Same problem for me… til I activated the trial. Then the stations play, though there’s still the occasional glitch that skips a song that didn’t load properly.

I disabled auto-renew, which is a nice touch compared to most other services which hope you forget by the time the trial is over.

I know this is a weird question, but for those of you who it is not working, are you guys by any chance on Bell? I’m having problems with stations and connect and I’m on Bell mobile and fibe wifi. Others who are on different providers are having no problems. I think this is an ISP related issue because people on Sky in the UK are experiencing the same thing
