Walmart Canada Partners with 7-Eleven, Expands ‘Grab & Go’ Locker Pilot

The next time you order something like an iPad or Apple accessory from Walmart, you’ll be able to pick up from a select 7-Eleven store in Toronto. The retail giant announced today it has teamed up with the convenience store chain to expand its Grab & Go Locker service in the Greater Toronto Area.

The service enables customers to ship online orders for free to a Grab & Go Locker location and pick it up at their convenience. Once items are placed in lockers customers are emailed 6-digit PIN codes which allows access to lockers; goods are held in lockers for seven days.

Simon Rodrigue, senior vice president, ecommerce, Walmart Canada, explained in a statement “Partnering with 7-Eleven to expand our Grab & Go Locker service was a natural fit. Our goal is simple – we want to provide our customers with an online shopping experience that is easy and convenient.”

The service is currently offered in select GTA Walmart stores, Walmart Canada Home Office, and Kapuskasing, Ontario. Here are the new following 7-Eleven locations where you can find Walmart Grab & Go Lockers:

  • Brampton – 131 Kennedy Road
  • Burlington – 735 Guelph Line
  • Toronto – 3355 Dundas Street West
  • Toronto – 680 Yonge Street
  • Mississauga – 2330 Battleford Road
  • Vaughan – 2067 Rutherford Road

Grab & Go Lockers are limited to items weighing less than 66 pounds and do not exceed a maximum height of 17-inches. Items shipped by third party vendors can’t be shipped to these lockers.

Walmart says it plans to expand the Grab & Go program across Canada, but as of now the program is only available in the Greater Toronto Area. Currently, online shipping costs $4.97 for orders under $50, while orders over this amount are free. Customers can also ship for free to Grab & Go Lockers or their nearest Canada Post location.
