Two-Hour Grocery and Alcohol Delivery Service Urbery Launches iOS App in Toronto

Urbery (the name derived from combining urban and grocery), a two-hour grocery and alcohol delivery service, launches an iOS app in Toronto that allows customers to order the the freshest groceries and any of their favourite alcoholic beverages delivered directly to their doorstep.

“Anyone from busy professionals to young parents can unburden themselves of grocery shopping by instantly ordering groceries and alcohol through Urbery.com or via the iOS Urbery app. Customers can choose from the items listed or make special requests (i.e. if an item is not listed or if they have a specific brand preference). They can also specify the grocery store they would like their personal shopper to shop from. Customers then choose the time-slot they want the groceries delivered, with delivery as fast as under two hours. There is also the option to schedule deliveries for the future based on individuals needs.”

The service uses the power of crowdsourcing to harness a fleet of vetted and highly trained personal shoppers to pick out the best produce and deliver orders quickly. The app allows customers to choose from over 5,000 of their favourite grocery and alcohol items.

Currently, the service delivers to customers living in downtown and midtown Toronto. Urbery deliveries are free for orders over $64.99. If the order contains alcohol, there is an additional $10 fee.

Urbery for iOS is available as a free download from the App Store. The app requires any device running iOS X.X or later and has been optimized for the iPhone 5, 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and 6s Plus. The company said that they are looking to expand into several other cities in Canada and the United States by 2016.
