iPhone 7 Prototype Rumoured to Feature Wireless Charging and USB-C Connector
The iPhone 6s was launched only three months ago, but the rumour mill has already started spilling information about the next-generation Apple handset. Although the information clearly meets the necessary requirements to qualify as a rumour – i.e. it’s very vague, and the Weibo poster doesn’t specify its source – it is worth considering the core information, that Apple is currently experimenting with at least five different iPhone 7 configurations.
The Weibo post was spotted by GforGames and claims – based on anonymous sources from China – that each of the iPhone 7 configurations has its own unique hardware characteristics. The source doesn’t describe those configurations in detail, but just throws in some goodies, such as USB-C connector compatible with headsets, multi-Force Touch, wireless charging, and fingerprint reader integrated into the iPhone’s display.
Also, the source claims Apple is playing around with AMOLED display technology – just in time to spill gas on earlier rumours of switching display panel tech. However, if you recall those rumours, you may also remember that they claimed Apple wouldn’t make the switch until 2018.
So, there you have it: The source threw in everything you might want from the next-generation iPhone 7, but spread across five different models. Which one would you like?
