Kim Kardashian’s New App #1 in Canada, But Did Not Break the App Store
Yesterday, ‘celebrity’ Kim Kardashian launched a new iPhone app called KIMOJI, which are over 250 emojis users could copy and paste, representing the star’s personality and physical features.
Despite Kardashian’s claims on Twitter yesterday her app “broke” the App Store, that’s completely false.

Apple said in a statement to TechInsider “there were absolutely no issues with the App Store yesterday.”
The app also includes an emoji for weed–I’m surprised this was allowed by Apple to hit the App Store, based on current developer guidelines, as noted in section 2.18:
Apps that encourage excessive consumption of alcohol or illegal substances, or encourage minors to consume alcohol or smoke cigarettes, will be rejected
…or even from 18.1 on Pornography:
Apps containing pornographic material, defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “explicit descriptions or displays of sexual organs or activities intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings”, will be rejected
In the meantime, the app has since vaulted to the number one paid position in the App Store in both Canada and the U.S. Currently, it retails for $2.29 CAD—are we doomed as a society yet?

I personnally find this brilliant from her to take such advantage of her image and monetize it the way she is. Not to defend her but she is making more than 50 millions a year from social medias and mobile gaming. Not bad for someone who happened to be in a sex tape.

The Kardashian’s father was a famous lawyer, the one that defended OJ. He passed before his time and left a sizeable inheritance. The girls don’t have any “unique skills” that would allow fame, no. They are just really rich. Money leads to fame in USA, and if you’re a super-rich attractive single woman with a flair for modern entertainment (social media, reality tv), you can end up in the enviable(?) position of marrying the most famous rapper in the land.
I mean, there are thousands of really rich families in the US alone. The only one we really know a of today are the Kardashians. It’s one thing to have money, you also have to be able to take advantage of your position and go further with it…
