Apple Releases Firmware 7.2.1 for Apple TV 3 Users [u]

Apple has just released firmware 7.2.1 (build 12H523) for third generation Apple TV users, listed as iOS 8.4.1. It is available for the original Apple TV 3 announced back in March 2012, and the quiet refresh from January 2013.

You can download the update by going to Software Update within your Apple TV settings, or download the standalone links below:

No word yet on what’s new in this update, but it most likely will include the usual bug fixes and improvement updates. Let us know what you see in this update.
The third generation Apple TV is available from Apple.ca for $89 CAD, but is also available for $79 in the company’s online refurbished store.
Update: Clarified it’s version 7.2.1. Apple has released a list of security updates in this build, which you can see here.

Really? How’s that I can find any 8.4.1? It’s only 7.2.1

Gary, I’m not sure where you got the info. about 8.4.1!!
The update is 7.2.1 (as the current version) with a different build number, which typically indicates minor bug fixes and enhancements.

“Clarified it’s version 7.2.1” I think you mean “Corrected”. Clarifying that 8.4.1 means 7.2.1 doesn’t make much sense.
