WhatsApp Says Over 100 Million Voice Calls Made Every Single Day
WhatsApp has announced in a company blog post there are now over 100 million voice calls made every single day by their users:
Today, more than 100 million voice calls are made every day on WhatsApp – that’s over 1,100 calls a second! We’re humbled that so many people have found this feature useful, and we’re committed to making it even better in the months to come.

Last April, WhatsApp launched free VoIP calls, which allows users to make calls over Wi-Fi or data, bypassing expensive carrier voice charges.
Back in February, WhatsApp hit 1 billion users. The company’s iOS app is rumoured to get music sharing, large emojis and public groups in a coming update.
Once iOS 10 launches this fall, it will allow third party apps such as WhatsApp to integrate with the phone app. This means when incoming calls arrive, it’ll show up on your lockscreen like a phone call does, instead of a push notification like it does now. This addition will surely make VoIP calling even more popular amongst iOS users.
