Apple Posts Job Listings for New Machine Learning Division

Earlier this month, Apple acquired Turi, a Seattle-based startup specializing in machine learning and artificial intelligence technology for around $200 million and now, the company has posted job listings for its new machine learning division, as it looks to hire data scientists and advanced app developers to help build proof-of-concept apps for multiple Apple products, MacRumors reports.

Turi

Turn, which was designed to help developers build apps with artificial intelligence capabilities that automatically scale, developed the Turi Machine Learning Platform, GraphLab Create, and Turi Predictive Services, used for functions like recommendations, fraud detection, sentiment analysis, and more.

“Turi is the new machine learning division at Apple. We build tools that enable teams across Apple to develop machine learning solutions to power amazingly intelligent user experiences. We are looking for new energetic members to join our ML Applications team to collaborate with product teams on a variety of proof-of-concept projects”.

The company is looking for data scientists and advanced app developers with a minimum of 3 years experience in machine learning, with a focus on deep learning, natural language processing, image applications, recommenders, physical sensors, and signal processing.

It was also reported a couple of weeks back that Apple is looking for a big piece of office space in Seattle, so it is likely the new hires will remain in the area as well.
