Jet Black iPhone 7 Undergoes Scratch Test [VIDEO]

The high-gloss finish of the Jet Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus comes with a disclaimer from Apple, which says the mirror-like finish is susceptible to “micro abrasions”. Apple suggests users should use a case if they are worried about scratches.

So with that being said, many pre-orders focused on the regular (matte) Black, but Jet Black is still the colour that’s sold out and hard to get this holiday season (click here to see the Black iPhone 7 undergo a scratch and bend test).

YouTube channel TechRax, which specializes in destroying and torturing Apple products (he has over 5 million subscribers), has performed a knife scratch test on the Jet Black iPhone 7.

Below, he takes his keys and regular kitchen knife to the back of the Jet Black iPhone 7—don’t try this at home, folks:

In a separate video, he puts the Black iPhone to a 3 pound hammer test from various heights. The iPhone 7 screen survives drops from up to 10 inches, but of course cannot resist damage when he starts swinging away:

Did you pick up a Jet Black iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus? How’s the back so far?
