TELUS Ranked Top Telecom in 2016 Gustavson Brand Trust Index
According to the 2016 Gustavson Brand Trust Index, TELUS is the top-ranked company in the ‘Telecoms/Cable’ category, repeating as the winner for the second year in a row.
Second place in the category went to Fido, followed by Koodo Mobile, Shaw, WIND Mobile, and Rogers and Bell at the bottom.
As for Apple, the company ranked fourth in the ‘Electronics & AV Equipment’ category (overall rankings are in brackets).
- 1. Samsung (15)
- 2. Sony (20)
- 3. LG (30)
- 4. Apple (50)
- 5. BlackBerry (143)
So Apple ranked fourth in the category which looks skewed since Sony and LG mobile phones aren’t the best-selling, but their television sets (along with Samsung’s) are very popular. As for BlackBerry, well, nobody really cares about them anymore (#shotsfired).
As for the Top 10 Most Trusted Brands in Canada, here they are:
- 1. MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op)
- 1. President’s Choice
- 3. Costco
- 4. Home Hardware
- 5. Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix
- 6. Canon
- 7. DAVIDsTEA
- 8. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
- 9. Band-Aid
- 9. Columbia Sportswear
This is how the index is measured, according to their description:
The second annual Gustavson Brand Trust Index uses a statistically representative sample of 6,384 consumers to score 276 Canadian companies and brands. It measures the performance of brands and companies in 27 industry sectors on a range of brand value measures.
This year saw the sample size grow more than double compared to last year.
