Apple Teacher Program is a Great Example of Passion for Education and Technology

Apple has always had a deep passion for the interplay of technology and education. Swift Playgrounds is one example of how Apple takes incredible technology in the iPad and the Swift programming language and turns it into an educational masterpiece.

The Apple Teacher program is another innovation on Apple’s part and shows the very best of the company.

“We designed the Apple Teacher program to help you build skills and stay inspired. You’ll discover new ways to enhance creativity and productivity by unlocking the magic of iPad, Mac, and built-in apps. You’ll get news and fresh ideas, featuring real stories, product tips, and great educational apps. And after completing online quizzes, you’ll receive an official Apple Teacher logo that you can share with the world.”

The program has already touched so many teachers and students around the world, opening up opportunities that never existed before. For example, the iPad has helped students with autism in Australia become more confident at school and at home.

“Aspect Hunter School caters to children on the autism spectrum. They are students who often struggle with conventional educational approaches and environments. They are drawn to specific interests like music and math, and have very personal comfort zones. Craig Smith, the school’s Deputy Principal and Aspect Practice Specialist, delivers multi-sensory lessons on iPad to tap into his students’ interests. The immersive lessons help students communicate, overcome social challenges, and become more receptive to learning in a structured environment.”

A variety of stories, including the one described above, are listed on Apple’s website.

If you know a teacher who is passionate about Apple technology, send them to the Teacher program. If you are already enrolled in the Apple Teacher program, let us know what you think!
