KnowRoaming Launches Free WhatsApp Usage Worldwide
Although WhatsApp’s move to share user data with its parent company Facebook provoked ire among (some) users, the app remains a good tool to keep in touch with friends and family while traveling. Toronto-based KnowRoaming’s latest offer bets on your WhatsApp “dependence”, so it offers free use of the app worldwide (via Engadget).

Such services come at a price, but this time KnowRoaming says it will cover your roaming costs if you are using WhatsApp, so you can send unlimited pictures, messages and videos, and make calls. The KnowRoaming service works in 142 countries.
So what does this require from your side? Well, there will be a minor investment in a KnowRoaming product, but before getting to that, you’ll need an unlocked phone, of course.
The investment would be a SIM sticker, which you can place on top of your regular SIM card, which is USD$30 and includes $10 credit. A cheaper version would be a global SIM card, which costs USD$10.
