Canadian Shows Off Doom Running on MacBook Pro Touch Bar [VIDEO]

Canadian developer Adam Bell, currently an iOS app engineer for Facebook, has shared a cool demo of what’s possible with the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar.

The developer has managed to put classic PC shooter Doom running on the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar. Why? Because he could. He told iPhone in Canada he achieved this by editing and compiling a custom version of a macOS Doom port, to add support for Touch Bar.

Essentially, the Touch Bar acts as a display for Doom, while regular keyboard controls work the game. Check out the video below:

Originally from London, Ontario, Bell also created a head-up display (HUD) for Doom, which shows your ammo, health and armour (this is frickn’ amazing).

Bell explained his Doom mod only took a “few hours or so”, adding he decided to do this because “it’s been a very boring rainy weekend.” When asked if he would share his code on GitHub, he said he doesn’t have plans to do so, “but if enough people want it I could.”
