Throwback: First iPhone vs First Android Phone Compared [VIDEO]

If you’re looking for some nostalgia, EverythingApplePro has posted neat video detailing the original iPhone compared to the first Android phone, both running their respective first mobile operating systems (iPhone OS 1.0 versus Android 1.0).

The original iPhone was released in 2007, while the first Android device was released in 2008, the HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1), which Rogers brought Canada.

What struck me as impressive back in 2007 using the original iPhone (which we still have), was the design, the ability to see webpages in Safari, plus how well Multi-Touch worked for typing on the smaller touchscreen.

Just yesterday, former Apple executive, Jean Louis Gassée, shared some tidbits about how iPhone software came to be.

Do you still have your OG iPhone kickin’ around somewhere?

Still have a 3G 8GB in the cabinet. Fired it up a few months ago, still going strong.

I have painful retro days running my original iPhone on 1.1.3.

The only app with landscape is safari. Had to use an old windows computer to run an old version of iTunes as the current version will not recognize the old firmware on the iPhone. Also the activation server for anything below 3.1.3 is turned off, so the iPhone needs to be jailbroken just to be used.
