Clash of Clans Maker Supercell Confirms Forums Hacked, 1.1M Users Reportedly Affected

Supercell, the makers of Clash of Clans, has confirmed their user forums were hacked and users should change their passwords, as the breach happened last September. In an email to forum users, they are told to reset and change their passwords immediately:

Supercell says game accounts are not affected and the exploit has been fixed.

Motherboard was able to confirm some of the leaked data as authentic, with notification site LeakBase claiming 1.1 million user accounts are part of the leak.

Canadian deals site RedFlagDeals fell victim to a similar hack recently, with its 650,000 forums users affected.

In this day and age, everyone should be using a password manager like 1Password, to create unique passwords for every site, so if a hack does happen, it won’t affect all of your accounts on the web.

Based in Finland, Supercell makes major iOS hits, such as Clash of Clans, Hay Day, Boom Beach and more recently, Clash Royale.
