Amazon Prime Video launched back in December in Canada, finally bringing the online retailer’s streaming service to Canadians. Prime Video is include as a free perk for Prime subscribers, offering a selection of various TV shows, movies, plus original content by Amazon.
This morning Amazon Prime Video for iOS was updated, to bring new and improved Parental Controls, allowing users to block mature-rated titles in Settings, so your kids don’t access them, with added support for Touch ID to unlock them for playback.
Amazon keeps parental controls on lockdown by requiring users to enter their account password, which can be a pain if you have a complex one setup (going back and forth between 1Password is a #firstworldproblem). You also need to setup a 5-digit PIN as well.

If your kids use Amazon Prime Video for iOS, this update looks helpful to limit playback of content they should not be viewing.
Amazon also says push notifications have improved for letting you know about new content, with an option to enable them in the app’s settings.
