All Three 2017 iPhones Predicted to Have 3GB of RAM, Fast Charging Through Lightning Port

According to a new report from MacRumors, all 2017 iPhones will contain 3GB of RAM and fast charging through an upgraded lightning port.

In a research note sent to investors, Wall Street firm Cowen and Company contradicts previous rumors that claimed only Apple’s high-end iPhone 8 would get the RAM boost. Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri told investors he expects storage options on all the devices to stay the same this year, with 256GB being the largest option.

“In terms of memory/storage configuration, all three models will likely adopt 3GB RAM; the 4.7”/5.5” will likely have the same storage options as the current iPhone 7/7+ in 32/128/256GB while the 5.8” model looks to be only offered in two memory configurations: 64GB and 256GB. Finally, the 5.8” model will likely have extended battery life with two packs of batteries.”

Fast charging has also been mentioned by KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, who says Apple will use USB-C to bring speedier battery charging. Today’s report notes that the fast charging features will come through the existing Lightning port.

Other features could include wireless charging, a bezel-free display on the premium iPhone 8, improved cameras, Touch ID embedded into the display and more.

3gb is waaay too little memory. Why is apple so cheap on memory? It’s the reason my phone keeps lagging and crashing as I’m a heavy user. Guess Apple doesn’t care about us. #profitsareking

What phone do you use? All the speed test show that iPhone 7 and 6S are faster than all Androids.

The 7 is much faster than the S7 and even the S8. Not sure why you would have crashing issues. I have none and I’m using a 5S on the latest public beta, it never crashes and seldom does it lag.

the speed tests are bs. Trust me I’ve owned both. usually apps run in background you’re not opennin them up from scratch each and every time. plus I don’t trust they’re not playing around with settings to slow down the android. My 6s Plus was waaaay slower than the S7 Edge. and I don’t care that the speed tests showed its slower. Trust me it was way snappier.

Check out Phonebuff’s speed tests. He’s a huge Android guy and his test always show iPhone on top. Furthermore he does his test with one lap apps open from scratch and the second lap is reloading apps. I only trust his speed test process.
