MBNA Canada Apple Pay Still Set for ‘Mid-2017’; HSBC Canada Says “Coming Our Way Shortly”
Five months ago, MBNA Canada (a subsidiary of TD Canada) announced its Apple Pay launch was slated for mid-2017, and according to the latest tweets from the company, that timeline is still intact.
Earlier this month, MBNA Canada told customers “Work is underway to bring Apple Pay to our customers. Launch is scheduled for mid-2017. Will share update as soon as we can.”

Apple Pay is currently supported in Canada by American Express, TD Canada, RBC, BMO, CIBC, Scotiabank, PC Financial, Tangerine (MasterCard), Desjardins, ATB and Canadian Tire MasterCards.
If you were wondering about HSBC Canada, the bank told users on Twitter “it’s coming our way shortly,” which sounds like the next 3-4 months?

What financial institution are you waiting for to support Apple Pay?

National Bank is still not supporting it. Any updates from them?
What about Capital One? And Rogers MasterCard??? I kinda stopped using both as they aren’t in my Apple Pay wallet…happy that MBNA finally is joining. Been far too long on the side lines.

Capital One has the best Credit card for spending in Canada at 2% back for spend on travel on all purchases, and Chase and Rogers have the only cards truly without No foreign Transaction fees which saves you a lot when buying in the US or anywhere outside of Canada.

HSBC, too late. Already got myself a Desjardins Pre-paid Visa. You snooze, you loose.
If they miss the mid-2017 deadline for Apple Pay, I will switch to PCF credit card…
