Alleged Foxconn Insider Leaked Details About Apple’s Forthcoming Devices on Reddit

Over the weekend, a Reddit user with the handle Foxconninsider released an abundance of information regarding a number of Apple’s forthcoming products.

While most of the Reddit AMA seemed to focus on upcoming iPhones and an Mac hardware, there was also some interesting information divulged regarding Apple’s rumoured smart glasses. In recent months we have seen a handful of reports from credible sources indicating that Apple’s smart glasses initiative is very much real.

According to Foxconninsider, Apple’s smart glasses uses a prism to convey an image to the lens with a resolution of 428×240. As far as interacting with the device itself, Apple’s smart glasses are equipped with a microphone for Siri control and an accelerometer. Additionally, it features a small capacitive strip for accepting calls and adjusting the volume.

Interestingly, Apple’s smart glasses do not contain a camera due to design and battery life constraints. The device is said to work with both polarized and prescription lenses. The insider has reportedly seen the device in various colours, including crystal, champagne, and black.

Based on the specs, the Foxconninsider believes that the smart glasses will retail for as much as $600.

Foxconninsider also referred to the overhauled iPhone 8 as the iPhone X, and confirmed that the production of the device has been delayed. The rest of the rumours that we’ve seen on this device seem to be accurate.
