Koodo Mobile’s latest promo offers its wireless home phone service for $5 per month for the first 12 months, dubbed as the company’s “Moving Day Offer”. The regular price for their wireless home phone is $20 per month.
Koodo Wireless Home Phone requires customers to purchase the one-time $50 ZTE hub which includes a SIM card. Users just supply their own phone handset to plug into the hub (It can support two handsets), which you then plug into an outlet in an area with ‘good mobile reception’.

Koodo Wireless Home Phone is only available in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Atlantic provinces. You essentially are paying for a mobile landline that you can take to the cottage or wherever there’s an outlet and cell reception.

Hardly the same. Koodo home phone is an actual mobile phone connection and not a cheezy VoIP app like freephoneline dot ca. With Koodo, you connect your traditional home phone into a cell modem and it dials out using a cell connection. Same for inbound calls. I have been using Koodo home phone and it works really well. Way cheaper then a Bell/rogers/telus home phone line
cheezy voip app ? app is an option, sure. but you can get a $50 device that hooks into network/your house phone and you use your standard phone. it sounds same, costs 0$ a month, and you have all ‘star’ services for free. not to mention call blocking, or voicemail-to-email as well. anyway, whatever works, not gonna argue $5 a month =) as long as it’s not the standard rape fee from robelus POTS i think it’s a step forward.
Still don’t like reliability of VoIP apps. I personally prefer it run over a cell connection which I find is more reliable and does not require internet connection like VoIP Apps. Cheers

You could use this as a pretty sweet car phone if you wanted to as well.
